Sketch #3 – Easy Cards Using Sketches

This week’s sketch is so fun and can be easy or stepped up. Tonight, I made a great birthday card using the With You In Mind stamp set. This stamp set is excellent for beginner stampers especially but also suitable for advanced stampers. The card I will be making uses Stamps, Ink and Paper – no fuss!! (Although, I will show you two alternatives that have the extra fuss!)

The Blueberry Bushel card base is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Fold in on the score line and burnish with a bone folder.

Next, I layered a piece of Azure Afternoon cut 5-1/4″ x 4″. I took a 2″ x 4″ strip of Everyday Skies DSP (Azure Afternoon pattern) and stamped stars all over using Blueberry Bushel and Azure Afternoon ink. Next, attach to the front of the card.

My Basic White strip measures 4-7/8″ x 2-1/8″ and the Blueberry Bushel mat measures 5″ x 2-1/4″. Using the star stamp with Azure Afternoon ink, stamp off once and stamp onto Basic White. Without reinking, stamp again. Repeat randomly. Stamp Happy Birthday using Blueberry Bushel ink towards the right side.

To finish assembling the card, adhere Basic White and Blueberry Bushel layers. Wrap some twine around and tie a bow. Using dimensionals, attach to the card front. Finish with a layer of Basic White on the inside. Easy – Peasy!! You can print out or save a pdf copy of Card Sketch #3 by clicking on the button below.
